Lunch at Restaurant SÖL

We have been to Restaurant SÖL a couple of times and it is a great, small restaurant run by three young chefs and with focus on Nordic flavors and interesting wines – you can read about our previous dinner experience there in this review. Restaurant SÖL also served lunch on Saturdays and we booked a table for lunch in the end of October. When we came, we were the first ones there and there is a calm and relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. There is only one option for lunch – and you can also have dessert. On this day, the lunch was variations of brussels sprouts and dessert was cream cheese ice cream.

First of all, we got a fresh and still steaming sourdough bun with good butter on the side – as a bread lover, I love getting fresh bread like this. Soon we also got the lunch dish! There were variations of brussels sprouts in the broth that was rich and tasty, there was homemade bacon and homemade pasta and even a poached egg in the middle! This might seem like a simple dish, but I think there is more to it and Restaurant SÖL nailed it. I loved the combination of the vegetables, bacon, broth and pasta – but the egg was maybe the only thing that didn’t quite fit in there. We also decided to have dessert and the cream cheese ice cream is excellent with caramel, berries, and buckwheat.

Thanks for a great lunch! We will certainly come again for lunch – and I also hope to visit again soon for a full dinner as I know that it is also a great experience.
